You are beside me. Even in this time of testing. I was called up by the deputy director of my school to meet her later at 2pm. I'm trembling you know. It cant be good. My lecturer refuses to tell me why I'm meeting her! Its like so scary. The wait for 2pm is HELL i tell u. I can only think of 2 reasons why she wants to see me. One - Theres some event and she wants me to cover it. Two - I kena plagarism. I think the 2nd reason is more feasible. Accidental plagarism perhaps. And that means I lose 20% of my total score. Bringing it down to 80% means its already a B. This is not happening... Its like some dream. Wake me up oh Lord. Calm the storm please... Reach out for me even as I sink... You're beside me... Please... I'm falling back on you...
I cannot afford to die like that! Will keep you guys posted on what happens later.
All I know is I find rest in you. From NP website:
Note:
The following procedure applies across all modules that the student is studying.
If two or more students are involved in plagiarism, the penalty will apply to all students involved, regardless of who was the originator and who did the copying. Security of assignments is the students’ responsibility until the assignment is submitted to Turnitin though MeL. That is, theft of an assignment, or parts of an assignment, will not be considered as excuses for plagiarism.
In the case of group projects, the student responsible for the plagiarised portion will face the penalty. Where it is not clear who is responsible for the plagiarism, all group members will face the penalty. The group leader should ensure that no part of the submission has been plagiarised.
If it is determined that plagiarism has occurred, the following penalties will apply.
First Instance of Committing PlagiarismThe tutor will interview the student involved in the instance of plagiarism. If the tutor is not satisfied with the student’s explanation, and determines that plagiarism has occurred, the student will receive zero mark for the assignment. No resubmission of the assignment will be allowed.
BUT I HAVE NEVER COMMITED THIS BEFORE!!!!!
Second Instance of Committing Plagiarism
The case will be referred to the School (or Division) Disciplinary Committee, which will consider the case and may interview the student(s) involved. If it is a proven second case, the student will fail that module.
Third Instance of Committing Plagiarism
The case will be referred to the NP Disciplinary Committee for its deliberation. This may result in dismissal from the Polytechnic.
